Rising Awareness

This design was made to warn people of flooding and rising waters, mainly caused by (but not limited to) Global Warming, heavy rains, tsunami and earthquakes. My hope is that nature can provide those in danger with a warning so they can evacuate dangerous areas and find safe ground in time.

I believe that God, our guardian angels and nature can warn us of natural events to come. Most cannot be prevented, as they are part of nature since our planet Earth is a living thing. But if we are one with our planet and we listen to and pay attention to nature, we may be able to sense when danger is near. When you have a hunch that something is going to happen, it is best to follow that hunch.

Moreover, we should always be prepared for natural disasters. This begins at the time our cities are built. They should be planned out so that homes and buildings are not built in dangerous locations and people are not meant to work and be active in places that are extremely subject to natural disaster.

The tsunami (tidal waves) such as the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami and the March 11, 2011 Great Tohoku earthquake and tsunami (lessons learned PDF) in Japan have shown us the great destruction that can come about in many ways if we are not prepared ahead of time. This means making everyone knowledgeable of the risks and what to do in an emergency.

Inspiration

I had a dream of flooding, where I was in the water playing this song on piano. I woke up and wrote the music, then painted the picture later.

Situation

Living in or visiting coastal areas or places subject to the dangers of rising water such as tsunami and tidal waves.

Notes

Remember that hurricanes, cyclones and typhoons also bring swelling of waters that can cause flooding.  Sudden heavy rains in the mountains can also cause flash floods as the rivers and creeks fill up and rush down into the cities.
