Soft Edge
This was designed to take away people’s desire or urge to hurt others with knives, swords, daggers or any kind of sharp objects. Knives have their merits, however they easily become weapons when people are not in the right state of mind. The hope here is that when someone feels like they want or need to hurt someone, love can overcome that feeling. and the desire to cause harm to others can be taken away.
Throughout history, people have used weapons such as knives, daggers, swords and scabbards to fight wars, battles, settle conflicts, express anger and so on. Often people are even inadvertently hurt as well. I made this painting in hopes that people will learn to use them wisely and safely instead instead of as weapons, as with cooking or sculpting.
The “soft” in “Soft Edge” softens the mind and takes away anger and impulse.
